The Best Locations for Personal Branding Shoots in London & the Home Counties

Choosing the right location for your personal branding shoot can completely transform how your photos feel and what they communicate to your audience. Whether you want to appear polished and professional, warm and creative, or cool and contemporary – your location sets the tone.

As a personal branding photographer working across London and the Home Counties, I’ve got a few go-to spots that I love recommending to clients. So if you’re looking for the perfect backdrop to bring your brand to life, here are some of the best places to shoot. 👇🏻

🌿 1. Your Home or Studio

Let’s start with the most personal option: your space.

Shooting at home or in your studio can create an authentic, relaxed feel – especially if it’s where you actually do your work. It gives your audience a behind-the-scenes look into your process, and helps build trust by grounding your brand in real life.

Best for: Lifestyle-led brands, coaches, creatives, makers, and anyone who works from home.

Tip: We can style your space or bring in props that align with your brand aesthetics.

🪞 2. Styled Studio Spaces, Airbnbs & Location Houses

If you don’t have a shoot-ready space of your own, a beautifully designed studio, Airbnb or location house is a great solution. Think clean lines, great lighting, curated furniture, and flexible setups. You can choose something minimal, luxe, colourful, or vintage – whatever suits your vibe. These are an ideal space for those dreamy lifestyle shots and to keep us warm and dry if the weather is less than desirable on your shoot day.

Favourites in London & Home Counties:
– Homebody Collection (Clapham Junction – dreamy natural light & neutral vibe)
– Styled Home Studios (variety of location house listings in London and the rest of the UK)
– Airbnb for unusual spaces in London, Surrey, Kent, Herts

Best for: Business owners who want a polished, editorial feel without using their home. Best for Autumn → Spring Shoots.

🏙️ 3. The Streets of London

Want your shoot to feel dynamic, modern, and a little bit cool? London has endless options, from sleek glass buildings and graffiti-covered alleyways to pastel townhouses and cobbled streets.

Go-to locations:
– Shoreditch (for creative, edgy vibes)
– King’s Cross or Barbican (for modern, industrial, architectural looks)
– Notting Hill (for colourful houses and charming cafés)
– Chelsea (for a chic, luxe aesthetic)

Best for: Creatives, designers, entrepreneurs, content creators – people that can work from anywhere.

Bonus: You can shoot multiple looks in one area to get variety without extensive travel time. Just a mooch around an area of London that matches your vibe!

☕ 4. Co-working space or café

Want something informal and lifestyle-led? Shooting in a local café or co-working space that aligns with your brand values (think: sustainability, creativity, community) can feel real and relatable.

Think:
– Having an in-person client meeting on a funky sofa
– Sitting in a window seat with your laptop and favourite hot (or cold!) beverage
– Flicking through a book/magazine on the rooftop terrace (London has a few of these!)

Best for: Creatives, freelancers, service-based businesses who want to feel friendly and down-to-earth.

Tip: Day passes are always best, always ask for permission first, or choose quiet times of day to avoid disruption if choosing a café.

🌳 5. In Nature

If you’re based in or outside London or want a more grounded, natural shoot, there are lots of locations that feature stunning countryside, gardens, and village aesthetic.

Favourites include:
– Horniman Museum & Gardens
– Box Hill, Surrey
– Mayfield Lavender (in bloom: July!)
– Rye or Lewes for charming town vibes
– Richmond Park for vast open space and golden hour shots

Best for: Coaches, holistic practitioners, wellness brands, nature-led creatives.

Tip: Just because it’s outside, doesn’t mean it’s free to shoot here – permits may be required if shooting in Royal Parks or privately owned farms like the Mayfield Lavender so be mindful of this when budgeting for your shoot.
