My philosophy when it comes to my work is to make My philosophy when it comes to my work is to make this process as easy and fun as possible for my clients. Having your photo taken can be daunting. You might’ve had a bad previous experience and hated the outcome. That may have shaped how you now view having your picture taken. This is why it’s about choosing the right person to work with. Building that relationship with someone before you step in front of the camera is key to how you show up as the best version of yourself. Feeling truly comfortable with someone so you can be your authentic self in front of them and therefore their lens. Someone who holds space for you when you need a minute. Someone to help guide and direct you into flattering poses that still feel real and authentic. Someone to tell you a bad dad joke to initiate real laughter. All these little things add up into a whole experience. And for my clients, they don’t just walk away with a varied bank of content for them to use in their marketing strategy. I’m their hype-woman, stylist, unofficial therapist, content strategist, vibe-bringer, BTS videographer, shoot producer, location scouter, snack bringer and ultimately - yes - photographer. The term ‘personal brand’ is thrown around a lot b The term ‘personal brand’ is thrown around a lot but what does this actually mean in photography terms? In essence, it’s about capturing you - the human behind the business. Photos that actually feel like you, in all your quirky goodness. Personal brand photography helps you showcase what it is you do and how you do it - which is key for explaining your point of difference. I asked some of you lovely lot this question and your responses were spot on; “A professional shoot that captures not just the personality of the business owner, but shows their vibe, their ethos and gives you an insight as to what it would be like to work with them.” “Capturing images of myself that portray what it’s like to work with me as a human. It’s an insight into the person behind the brand that will hopefully get people to know, like and trust me.” “Taking photos whilst getting the brand voice and personality across, making it bespoke and personable. Also having a few photos of the person behind the business so that customers can connect and build a relationship with the brand and the owner.” It short, it does what it says on the tin. It’s photography for your brand that is personable. Where do I even try to begin to explain just how i Where do I even try to begin to explain just how incredible this trip was. It was everything I wanted it to be and more. We spent time in 6 different places, fully immersing ourselves in the culture - eating delicious foods, visiting shrines and even bathing nude publicly in the most beautiful outdoor Onsen’s. The landscape of this country is phenomenal. A photographers paradise. The colours, the shapes, the light. I honestly couldn’t believe my luck every day I woke up here. The people were some of the nicest, helpful and most interesting I’ve ever met. My 135 days of Duolingo helped immensely and I even had 3 separate locals compliment me on my Japanese. 🙂‍↔️ I can’t get over how amazing they do things over there. The efficiency of everything - from food service to trains, everything runs like clockwork. The Japanese take pride in everything they do, whatever job they have and I’ve never seen such an amazing work ethic. It’s something that needs to be studied. There is so much to learn from Japan. I honestly believe everyone needs to go at least once to immerse themselves in everything it has to offer. We felt like we only scratched the surface with this beautiful country and I cannot wait to return. Japan, you’ll always have a huge piece of my heart. ❤️ 20 frames does not do it justice - of course, there are most photos to come.
